I’m a mom of two kids and two huskies. I have a business and research background. I used to work as a market researcher in New York and Boston and I love analyzing human psychology and behaviors. My curiosity to understand what drives human behavior helped me in my personal journey to seek answers and solutions to liberate myself from my own eating disorder behaviors back in 2013. During the pandemic of 2020, and realizing mental health issues were skyrocketing, I decided to open up about my eating disorder recovery story on Facebook to offered guidance and support, and I’ve been helping people recover since then!
In 2024, I obtained the CCI certification which prepared me to become an adjunct support to traditional treatment teams and expanded my knowledge and understanding of eating disorders. I currently live in Peru and I work remotely serving clients in multiple countries. Helping people recover from eating disorders is a privilege of a job. I’m honored to be able to support my clients and witness their transformation to liberate themselves from their eating disorder once and for all.

The Carolyn Costin Institute (CCI) trains coaches to work along the lines of treatment teams and support clients in making essential day-to-day behavior changes for recovery.
Carolyn Costin, through her private practice and treatment programs, trained both licensed and non-licensed individuals in practical skills not typically taught in traditional therapy—such as eating with clients, grocery shopping, and clothes shopping. These tasks, now carried out by eating disorder coaches, complement standard treatment approaches.
Recognizing a lack of formal training in this growing field, Carolyn founded CCI—the first institute to offer a comprehensive, rigorous certification program in eating disorder coaching. The program draws students worldwide, particularly recovered individuals, who want to support others in healing.
CCI-certified coaches help clients meet treatment goals in real-life settings by offering daily support, modeling healthy behavior, and guiding clients through exposure and response prevention therapy—playing a vital role in recovery.
